FAQ: auto repair shops

Can I assign bookings to lifts and mechanics?

To mechanics, yes: each mechanic is a provider with their own schedule. Lifts and other work bays are not bookable resources in 4appointments.

Can I set the duration of each service?

Yes. Each service has a duration you can configure, and the time reserved respects it. You can also add a pause after the booking with the “Buffer (min)” field.

Does the customer get told when the car is ready?

No. 4appointments does not send “job finished” notices or any other messages to the customer from bookings. Contact the customer through your usual channels.

Can I also take bookings by phone?

Yes. Your team enters them by hand in the “Booking” section, and they appear in the same calendar as online requests.
