How do I book an auto service appointment online?

Choose the work you need and an open time on the shop’s booking page; the shop confirms the request afterward.

Booking as a client

Scheduling auto service online lets you pick the kind of work (inspection, oil change, repairs, diagnostics and more) and an open time on the shop’s booking page, with no phone tag. The request is pending until the shop confirms it, usually by phone or text.

Go to the shop’s booking link, found on its website or in a text message from the mechanic. The page lists the shop’s services, each with its own duration and price. Select the job you need, such as an inspection, oil change or diagnostics, depending on what the shop has listed. The system blocks off the time that job takes.

Pick a mechanic or “Anyone available”, then choose a day and an open time. Times come from the shop’s schedules and the job’s duration, so you can’t take a time the same mechanic already has booked.

Enter your name, an email address if you like and an optional note. The form has no fields for the make, model, year or license plate, and the shop’s team may not see the note when they look at the calendar, so give those details and a description of the problem when the shop contacts you.

Send the request. The booking is created as pending and the time is held; the shop confirms it from its panel, and 4appointments sends you no confirmation email or reminder. Save the cancel or reschedule link on the final screen. Payment and any deposit for parts are arranged with the shop directly, since online payment isn’t available in the current plans. If the shop never confirms, the request is canceled automatically about an hour after the requested time, so phone first if your car has to be in on a certain day.

What to remember

  • ✓Each job has a duration set by the shop, and times are offered accordingly
  • ✓Describe the car and the problem when the shop contacts you
  • ✓Save the cancel or reschedule link from the final screen

Common questions

Can I choose a particular mechanic?+

Yes, if the shop has set up its mechanics as separate providers. You can pick one, or choose “Anyone available” if that option is switched on.

How will I know how long the work takes?+

The shop sets a duration for each service, and that’s the time the calendar blocks. If the work turns out to need more, the shop will tell you directly.
