Deposits and payment at booking: what is possible today

On the current plans, 4appointments does not take payment online when a client books. The public page records the booking request, but the client does not pay there. If you want to ask for money in advance, agree it with the client outside the tool and spell out the terms in writing.

What exists and what doesn’t

The panel has screens for online payments, but the switch that turns them on is not available on the current plans and will not activate. There is no card payment, PayPal, bank transfer or local payment method built in. A booking made through the public page stays pending, and any payment happens on the spot or by a method you agree with the client. Check the pricing page for what each plan includes. If a client asks whether they can pay online, tell them that option does not exist yet and say how you prefer to be paid.

  • The tool does not process card, PayPal, bank transfer or any other payment
  • The online payments switch in the panel will not activate on the current plans
  • A pending booking holds the slot until your team confirms or rejects it
  • Confirming a booking sends the client no message, so tell them directly

How to ask for money in advance outside the tool

If your service justifies payment up front, you can proceed this way, without relying on any 4appointments feature:

  • Write down the terms: the amount, the deadline for paying and what happens if the client cancels
  • Tell the client directly which payment method you accept, for example a bank transfer or payment on the spot
  • Confirm the booking in the panel only after the money arrives, and tell the client yourself
  • Keep proof of payment with your records, or leave payment for the visit and say so on your website

Pending bookings and deadlines

A pending booking holds the slot until it is confirmed or rejected. If nobody resolves it, it is canceled automatically, without any notice to the client, about an hour after the end of the requested time. If you ask for money in advance, deal with pending requests promptly so that you do not block slots or leave clients without an answer. The tool does not issue invoices or receipts: any document you give the client is your own responsibility. If the client entered an email address when booking, you can write to them from your own account. The phone number on the public form is not stored.

Common questions

Can I take card payments through 4appointments?

Not on the current plans. Online payments are not available, and the switch in the panel will not activate. If that changes, the pricing page will say so.

Does 4appointments accept cards, bank transfers or other payment methods?

No. The tool does not process any payment. Whichever method you choose is agreed directly with the client, outside the tool.

Can I still ask for a deposit?

You can agree an amount in advance directly with the client. Write down whether it is a deposit or an advance on the price, and what happens on cancellation. In many states and countries the two have different consequences, so check the wording.

How much does 4appointments cost?

Plans cost from €1 to €8 a month, and the first 12 months are free, with no card needed. See the current prices on the pricing page.

Want to organize your business calendar?
