FAQs for car workshops

Can I assign bookings to hoists and mechanics?

To mechanics, yes: each mechanic is a provider with their own schedule. Hoists and other work bays do not exist as bookable resources in 4appointments.

Can I set the duration of each service?

Yes. Each service has a configurable duration and the time reserved respects it. You can also add a pause after the booking with the «Buffer (min)» field.

Is the customer told when the car is ready?

No. 4appointments does not send «job finished» notices or any other messages to the customer from bookings. Contact the customer through your usual channels.

Can I also take bookings over the phone?

Yes. Your team enters them by hand in the «Booking» section and they appear in the same calendar as online requests.
