How can I book my car in for service online?

Choose the job and a free time on the workshop’s booking page; the workshop confirms the request afterwards.

Booking as a client

With online booking for a car service centre, you choose the type of work (inspection, oil change, diagnostics and so on) and a free time from the workshop’s booking page, with no waiting on the phone. The request is pending until the workshop confirms it, and the workshop will usually get in touch by phone or message.

Open the booking link the workshop has given you, for instance on its website or in a message from the mechanic. The page lists the workshop’s services, each with its own duration and price. Choose the job you need, depending on what the workshop has listed. The system reserves the time that job needs.

Pick a mechanic or “Anyone available”, then choose a date and a free time. The system works out the free times from the workshop’s schedules and the duration of the job, so you cannot take a time already taken by the same mechanic.

Key in your name, an email address if you wish and an optional note. The form has no fields for the make, model or plate number, and the note may not be seen by the workshop’s team when they look at the calendar, so give those details and a description of the problem when the workshop contacts you.

Send the request. The booking is created as pending and the time is held. The workshop confirms it from its panel, and 4appointments sends no confirmation email or reminder to you. Save the cancel or reschedule link from the final screen. Any deposit for parts is arranged with the workshop directly, because online payment is not available in the current plans. If your car must be in on a certain day, phone first.

Common questions

Can I choose a particular mechanic?+

Yes, if the workshop has set up its mechanics as separate providers. You can pick one, or choose “Anyone available” if that option is switched on.

How do I know how long the job will take?+

Each service has a duration set by the workshop, which is the time the calendar blocks. If the work turns out to need more, the workshop will tell you directly.
