How to accept online payments for appointments
The client pays by card at the moment of booking — direct, secure, no physical card reader.
Payments & firm bookings
Accepting online payments at booking turns an appointment from a vague commitment into a firm, paid reservation — clients show up significantly more often.
In your 4appointments account payment settings, you connect a payment processor (Stripe is the most widely used — it supports Visa/Mastercard/Amex cards and Apple/Google Pay). Connecting takes a few minutes and requires no technical knowledge.
For each service, you decide whether payment is mandatory at booking, optional or disabled. You can set full payment (the client pays everything in advance) or partial payment (the client pays a deposit, the rest on arrival).
At booking, the client enters their card details in a secure (PCI-compliant) form right on the booking page. The payment is processed instantly, and the client receives the receipt by email.
The money usually reaches your bank account within 2–3 business days, faster with some processors. From the dashboard you can see all payments, issue refunds and export financial reports.

It depends on your cancellation policy: you can set a full refund for cancellations with enough notice, a partial refund or no refund at all.
